Hanging out with your friends

I don't usually hang out with my friends a lot but I like to hang out with them in the holidays. Sometimes when I was not going a trip to anywhere my friends invited me to go shopping with them at Queens Bay Mall or Gourney Plaza and also every once a year at December my church friends and I went together to Church camps. I also like to hang out with my friends at school time.

It was such fun to be together with my old friends. When the holidays came we always plan to go to the movies when we went shopping. We like to share our money to buy food and also bought things for each other. When we were the same school in Union, we always stick together like glue. They are the best friends I had! They teaches me some homework of my Chinese and comfort me when I am sad or angry.

They went to my house to celebrate Christmas and also went to my birthday. They always make me laugh and I like stay together with them. When I transfer to Sri Pelita, I was a bit nervous that I won't have any friends to hang out with but slowly I got use to the place. The big diffence is the students are more active than my old school. I still miss my old friends and really wanted to see them more often.

At my church camp I always like to hang out with my church friends. I am so happy to meet each other again because some of my church friends move to another church and I never got to meet them for years. We had so much fun together. My church camps had all kinds of games and many Bible Quiz. I really wish that we all will always be together and forever.

World cup 2010

During this year's FIFA World Cup, a lot of people are very excited about it especially my grandfather! He always like to watch football very much. Even before the ball had gone into the goal, he will get very excited like jumping up from his seat. Sometimes I heard people shouting in my apartment at the middle of the night. Anyway this year World Cup is very challenging for the football teams because their skills must get better to fight for the World Cup.

I was very sad because none of my countries in Malaysia have a chance to join in the fight for the World Cup. My mother always think that Germany were going to win because a lot of her friends support Germany. They think that the team members are very strong and skillful. I am not really crazy about football because I think it was just a ball being snatch from a team to another.

Football is a very rough game for girls because all the teams must wear big sharp football shoes. Those football players needed it to run faster without slipping so easily. They sometimes play football under the rain. Their shoes are very harmful because one kick on anyone leg he or she will fall down to the ground in pain. Those shoes must have people can stand the pain and be careful from it.

The beginning of the game was very boring. You only see the players kick the ball for 2 hours. I don't get it why some people like so much about football. It was a pity Germany didn't win the match with Spain. Now my mother thinks they are too young and not experience enough to win the FIFA World Cup but they have went through a good match with Spain.

I heard the octopus name Paul dream just happened to came true. It lives somewhere in Germany. They lend it choose which team will win and it chooses Spain instate of Germany! Germany was so angry that they almost wanted to kill the octopus and eat it. And the end of the game Spain won the World Cup.

My life as a teenager

My life as a teenager is tough. I feel that I seem to have a lot of problems with my studies and friends. I face difficulty with my studies as I have to study more. Sometimes some of my teachers will tell us to do our homework in the computer. I find it difficult to use it because I only learned how to do it this year. Some people laugh at me because my typing skills are very slow, that's why I dislike to type in front of others and it takes me a long time to finish just an essay!

I feel different from other teenagers because they like to hear many kinds of music and I only hear a few types of music in Chinese and English, so I have nothing much to talk about with other teenagers. I try to hear some of their music even though I don't really like to hear them because my aim is to make friends with them. I like music but in a different way from others. I love to listen to Christian songs because I enjoy worshipping God and I feel very encouraged to live my life in a meaningful way.

I do not have many friends in church but I am thankful that Hui June accepts me as I am. I feel quite lonely whenever she goes home early after the Sunday service. A lot of my church friends have left the church because some of them follow their parents to another state.

I had some close friends when I studied in Union High School but my Malay and Chinese studies were so weak that I have no choice but to transfer to another school. I have to leave my good friends whom I have known for the past two years. Now in my new school in Sri Pelita, I have a few new friends. Although I am uncomforble with some of the boys in this school, I will try my best to fit in and do well in my studies.

I am glad that there are a few teachers who are patient and understanding toward me. I hope that with their help, I will do much better in every way.

My Hobbies

I have many hobbies such as swimming, playing the piano, dancing, reading story books, watching television and many more. Hobbies are fun because they make our lives interesting.

Two of my favourite hobbies are dancing and playing the piano. I started my ballet and piano lessons when I was seven. I had my first ballet lesson at the Shih Chung school hall. It was terribly hot as the hall had no air-conditioner. My ballet shoes became black as charcoal as the hall was very dusty and dirty. Now I am glad that I don't have to stand those uncomfortable conditions anymore as I get to dance at the ballet school which is cool and clean.

My piano teacher's name is Miss Lee. She is very patient and kind. If it was not for her, I would have given up my piano lesson earlier. There were times when I felt very frustrated that I could not play well and my sight reading was very poor. Now I am happy that I can play some classical pieces and I will be sitting for my Grade 5 practical exam.
I had problems in my reading when I was in my primary school. But thanks to my Dad who had read to me since I was one year old, I have improved in my reading skill. I can now read better and enjoy reading adventure stories. I hope I can improve in my reading further.
Swimming is also one of my favourite activities. I used to dislike swimming because I was afraid of water when I was young. I managed to overcome my fear when my swimming instructor taught me how to relax and have fun in the water.
Hobbies make my life more meaningful as they help me to calm down and concentrate on my studies. Thank God for them or else I would be like a zombie in class.

Story about My Childhood

When I take a look at my childhood pictures, I recall the wonderful moments of my childhood. I was raised by my parents. When I was two years old, I had the opportunity to follow my parents to go to America. My father was relocated to Arizona for one an half years of work assignment.

I experienced the four seasons there and I like winter season the best. I remember my father bringing us to Flagstaff, Arizona to see the winter scenery and to play with the snow over there. I enjoyed myself in the snow by building a snowman, throwing snowballs and making snow angels with my parents.

Then, from there we went to the Grand Canyon. The scenery was grand, beautiful and breathtaking. I met some American Indians, the Navajos. My mother bought some bracelets and necklaces from them. I loved the cold weather and the cold wind which blew in my face. What a difference between the hot weather in Malaysia and the pleasant weather in Flagstaff.

Once I went to a peach farm in Arizona. There were many big and juicy peaches grown in the trees so low that I can pluck them with my hands and ate them straight away. I like to eat them so much that I pluck as many as possible and brought a big bag and happily went home.

I was quite an active child as I liked to run and jump a lot. My mother would often take me to the parks to play on the slides and sit on the swings almost every evening. I also loved to play with natural objects such as stones, sands and sticks. one of my favourite things to do was to build sand castles by the beach in Batu Ferringhi. I also remember when I was in Arizona, I loved to watch them skid on it.

My mother used to complain that I only loved to drink fresh milk and eat nothing else. I was not interested in eating bread, eggs, vegetables, and many more when I was young. Bringing me up was not easy as my parents often had to play with me and entertain me because I was the only child at that time and I felt bored easily.

I will always remember my childhood days in America and I hope that one day I will be able to visit Arizona again or to visit my father's friend, Uncle Scott and Auntie Kris in Ohio.

A Family Hike

When I first came to Sri Pelita my first trip in this school was a day trip to Monkey Beach. It was very exciting because my last year of schooling at Union High School didn't really have any day trip to anywhere. I had to wake up very early that day to catch the bus in the morning.

The bus journey wasn't long. It took about forty five minutes to reach Teluk Bahang. We all gathered at the starting point and lined up according to our age group. I saw many other students' and their families join in the family hike. I was a bit sad that my family had no time to join me in the hike because my parents had to bring my brother to his violin class and my sister to her piano class. Nevertheless, my new friends cheered me up during the hike.

When the teacher-in-charge, Mr. Edric, finished his announcement, we all started heading to the beaches. The primary students only had to hike to Muka Head beach and we, the secondary students had to hike further than them. When I hiked to Muka Head with my friends, the journey seemed easy for us. The route was similar to the hike up Bukit Jambul because there were not many areas that were steep and there were many wooden steps that were laid for us to go up the hill.

We reached Muka Head quickly and we were surprised to see a few secondary students and teachers reach there earlier than us. Then, we all hiked together in a group to Monkey Beach. The tracks leadeding to the beach were more challenging than I thought . The journey was quite rocky and we had to climb over some fallen tree trunks including some large roots that extended out to the beach. I was horrified when I almost slipped and fell into some dried bushes. Thank goodness I had a good grip on one of the tree branches.

After that, we finally reached Monkey Beach and I was relieved to have a rest. I then had a picnic with my friends. Some of my friends were playing by the sea and some of us played with some sand on the beach. I dreaded the thought of us hiking back to where we started. I thought we could get on the boats to get back to Teluk Bahang. When we reached Muka Head again, we heard the annoucement for the students' who had brought their families. They would get a small trophy for the Family Hike and gets points for their colour houses.

Finally, we reached our starting point. My legs were aching and I went to a small store to buy a 100 Plus drink. When we were on the bus, I was thinking about the Family Hike and how it did keep me fit and gave everyone a good exercise.

My CNY Holidays

During my Chinese New Year holidays, my family and I went to visit my relatives and my brother and sister were so excited to gets lots of angpows. On the fist day, we went to my aunt's house and I discovered that my cousin brother actually was very skillful in massaging. He may be a bit tall and thin but his fingers are very strong. My mother said that she could feel the pain when he used his 'magic' fingers to massage her tired and stiff neck.

Next, we visited my granduncle's house and found that Amelia the dog was also there, too. My brother ,my sister and I like to play with Amelia. It is a very intelligent dog. When my aunt told her that it was time to go home, it would bark in reply to mean it agreed with her. I like to have a pet dog like Amelia someday because it won't mess around the house like other dogs do.

After that , we went to a grandaunt's house. We witnessed a colourful lion dance and heard a very loud explosion of firecrackers. It was a very exciting and enjoyable event.
The second day, we visited another aunt's house and had lunch there. We also played with Cutie the chihuahua. Even though it is not as intellingent as Amelia, he is a very good watchdog. It can sense anything very sharply such as a bat flying by or even a cat or a bird from afar. It will bark at it and scare them away.

On the third day, we were invited to our uncle's wedding dinner at E & O hotel. The bride and the bridegroom offered tea to their parents and elders. While we were waiting for the dinner to be set ,we went to the hotel garden. The garden was really beautiful and my sister and I took many pictures.

It was a very hectic and memorable Chinese New Year holiday for me.
